GENERAL INFORMATION

The winners for the 4th Annual Holiday Music and Film Awards will be selected by an Independent Advisory Committee. The IAC consist of filmmakers, producers and directors.

Each year, our  Independent Advisory Committee will select and recognize holiday films that continue to bring families together, inspire joy, and define the season. Through nominations, scoring, and discussion, our committee shines a light on the films that keep the holiday spirit alive.

The HMFA will also present these special awards outside of competition:

The Golden Star Award symbolizes excellence. It recognizes outstanding artistry, storytelling, and production in a holiday film.

The Holiday Spirit Award
celebrates stories that uplift,  inspire and bring people together.

The Heart of Christmas Award  goes to the film that captures family, faith humor, and adventure in one.

*IMPORTANT SUBMISSION INFORMATION *

To submit your film for a Holiday Music and Film Awards consideration, please register by filling out the entry form on this website. Please provide your name and professional title (producer, director, etc..) as well as all other required information.
After you click Submit, you will receive a confirmation email and be redirected to FilmFreeway to finalize your submission. Once on FilmFreeway, please select the appropriate category for which you are submitting, upload your film, and pay the $35 entry fee.

DATES & DEADLINE 

 The film submission period begins  June 30,2025 at 12 midnight EST. The Regular Deadline is July 28th and the Extended Deadline is August 19th.

A LATE DEADLINE HAS BEEN ADDED FOR SEPTEMBER 3rd at 11:59 EST. FILL OUT THE ENTRY FORM BELOW AND EMAIL YOUR FILM IN MP4 FORMAT OR A VIMEO FILE TO submit@holidaymusicandfilmawards.com

Please note: FilmFreeway entries are closed therefore you will not be able to submit your film there.

*ELIGIBILITY PERIOD*

To be eligible for an award, a film must be released to the general public, through television and/or streaming services, between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024.

*CHANGES TO ENTRIES*

If you have not submitted your film , changes can be made to the entry form.

Please note that once a film has been submitted on the FilmFreeway platform, no changes can be made to the entry. Additionally, submitted films cannot be withdrawn or removed from consideration.

WINNERS:

Producers will be presented the HMFA trophy for films.

Winners in the Technical Categories will receive a Laurel.

*THE HMFA NOTIFICATION DATE:

The HMFA notification date for the film categories is September 5th. This date is subject to change.
